UL certification for EVE LiFePO4 battery cell

EVE currently has three UL certifications listed and also received UL9540A report for LF280K LiFePO4 cell.

1, Lithium Battery – Components

This certification covers the LiFePO4 battery cells are: LF32, LF50F, LF56, LF75, LF80, LF90, LF105, LF230, LF280.

This certification belongs to the ul lithium battery certification bbcv2 category, the category is to investigate the components that make up the battery pack.

The basic standard used to investigate products in this category is UL 1642, “Lithium Batteries.”

2, battery packs used in stationary and / or transport applications – components

The LiFePO4 cells covered in this certification are: LF32, LF50K, LF105, LF280K.

This certification falls under UL’s BBGA2 category. This category covers lithium-ion and nickel cells intended for use in modules, battery packs and battery systems intended for stationary and/or transport battery applications.

The basic standard used to investigate products in this category is CAN/UL 1973, “Batteries for Use in Stationary, Vehicle Auxiliary Power and Light Electric Rail (LER) Applications,” and/or UL/ULC 2580, “Batteries for Use in Electric Vehicles,” and/or UL/ULC 2271, “Batteries for Use in Light Electric Vehicle (LEV) Applications.”

3, Battery cells used in stationary and/or transportation applications certified by Canada – Components

The lithium iron phosphate battery cells covered in this certification are.
LF50K, LF280K.

This certification belongs to UL’s BBGA8 category. The same certification with #2, but for Canada.

4, UL9540A Report

On May 24, 2021, EVE Received UL9540A (fourth edition) Reports for Its LF280K Battery Cell Specialized for ESS Applications. This report Currently not updated to UL’s database.

The UL9540A Report is a major third-party report required by the North American energy storage project developers or owners when submitting for relevant project approval process. The relevant local administrative department and enforcement agency will follow the NFPA855 (Standard for the Installation of Stationary Energy Storage Systems) issued by the National Fire Protection Association, to strictly review the UL9540A report to assess whether the fire risk of the energy storage project is controllable, and to formulate relevant fire emergency plans.
